Sixth Rule of Photo Shoots: You Never Know Who’ll Stop By

Police

It's pretty hard to hide a tractor, let alone the 3 tractors, 4 cars, multiple implements and 45-foot articulated boom lift we usually bring with us on a shoot. We aren't what you tend to call stealthy.

Usually, we have guys from the local dealership, marketing reps out in the territory, curious neighbors and a few members of the press drop by.

On this particular shoot, we were in a field across from the township building. The officer just dropped by to get the news, thinking the owner of the field may have bought a new tractor. He just happened to do it in his work truck. Still, he got our attention real fast.

(For the record, I haven't had to bail anyone out of jail on a shoot. That's particularly good because I have no idea how I'd submit that on my expense report.)
